old dog, new tricks!

Tonight I got my first stats test back. I told Dee that I wasn't excited to get it back because I thought I had done so poorly. Lo and behold when I got it back it was an 89%. I was very surprised!! Everyone knows math and numbers aren't my strong suit (I blame it on my first grade teacher as well as my hs math teacher), but I kinda get this a little bit.

I ran tonight when I got home from class. I stay around home since it's dark. I had thought about going to Lawrence to run with Kevin but since we are planning to take the kids to Ellsworth for Halloween, I figured 9 a.m. in Lawrence would be too early for me. Kevin--I do want to run the St. Patty's Day Shuffle.

So have you noticed that my mileage each week has gone up? Last night I ran for 30 minutes in E-town. I loved it. It was 9 p.m. and I felt safe. I stayed up in our neighborhood (bradley, kunkle, 11th, 10th and 9th street) I did notice too late that I was wearing all dark clothes so I tried to stay as close to the curb as possible. It was a great run!!

Today I did something insane. I ran to the dike, south on the dike then north back half way-- bad move. I watched my shadow and I was barely moving. Then I ran home. It was about 5.25 miles or so. Never again when it's as windy as it was today!!

The kids got to spend some time with Braden and Taylor so they had a good weekend!!

teacher k

K enjoyed her day as teacher. She liked eating at McDonalds (of course) and getting to go in the teacher's lounge. She said she got to "put my feet up on the table at the back of the room" while the rest of the class went to the library. She also thought she did a good job taking lunch count!!

We had 1.5 days of parent conferences so we have tomorrow off. I'm planning a long run since I've not done anything the last 2 days. I also plan to go to Buhler's game with mom & dad. I thought the game was in Buhler so it's a good thing I talked to dad and he sat me straight!!

attack of the killer corn

We made our annual trip to the Sunny Side Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze. The day was beautiful but windy!!! The guy went overboard on this year's corn maze: it was really hard. D or I will post pictures later.
I ran about 3-4 miles today. I'll have to map it and see the total mileage. I am still losing and Cougar Slimpossible is in second place this week. Go team!!
D & I worked bingo which is ok, but it's soooo smoky that I came home and showered and stuck the clothes in the wash!!

wonderful wednesday!!

After two rainy days, wasn't today just beautiful? I ran over three miles. I just started and figured that I better take advantage of the weather so I ran on.
My college classes only meet for 8 weeks so now I'm ready to take stats. wow!!

I found out tonight that I got a B in accounting!! I'm so happy. I don't think Dee's ready to hand over checkbook duties yet!!
I stopped in at the chamber after hours to give something to Hank and saw AK giving tours. The place is very nice!!

sunny sunday

It was nice to just relax and enjoy the day. That included a trip to Target, Walmart, Alde, the Y and Target again. K, D and I rode our bikes for half the dike. The wind was blowing but K hung in there. The four of us also played a little football where the boys cheated a lot!!
Yesterday was spent at games--football, soccer then football again. We got to see Andrew, Linda, Mom, Dad, Kenny and Carolyn at the KWU game. That was fun!!
I have one more assignment for my sports class to finish-- stats starts on tuesday!!
