ready for a break!!

This weekend was a fast one. Friday night I baked Key Lime Pie & White Chocolate cookies for the tailgate Saturday. Saturday we went to the K-State game. The best part is tailgating with friends. Oh and KSU won the game!! We left at halftime to get back for the Parade of Lights that the kids were both in!
Today was church and a seven-mile run. JD joined me for the last mile. Fun times! I'm sore and cold now. D built a fire so I'm going to clean up and curl up in front of it. That is when I finish folding the massive pile of clothes next to me!!

my randomness...

I know that's surprising... thought I better post a pic of Dee and I at Kevin's bash in Lawrence just to prove that I was there. (note: D's blog has no pics of me!!)

There's one of JD and cousin B at the Cheifs game. J actually got to go to a pro game before his dad!
The first pic is one Cindy took of AK & I after the opera. We look soooo excited!!

tag, i'm it!!

My fellow jteacher, Jill, tagged me so I guess I better post.

Here's six random things about me.

1. I've always wanted to coach football. This dream will probably never come true, but I did get to scout defensive plays one night with my brother, Jason, when he was scouting for Liberal.

2. My favorite comfort food is chicken and noodles. Not the soupy kind, but the thick-creamy-good-on-mashed-potatoes kind. Bierocks are also high on my list and remind me of my Nana and the times we made them together when I was a poor college student.

3. Also along the lines of food, sugar cookies were the first cookies that I made with my Nana.

4. In high school, I played tennis. I wasn't that good but my my junior and senior year I did play varsity.

5. I only changed my major three times in college (that's for you AK). Special ed to journalism to secondary education.

6. I saw Sam Kinison just weeks before he was killed in a wreck. He has trying out new material at Snookies. I also saw George Karlin while I was at K-State.

Here are the rules:

* Link to the person who tagged you.
* Post the rules on your blog.
* Write 6 random things about yourself.
* Tag 6-ish people at the end of your post.
* Let each person know he/she has been tagged.
* Let the tagger know when your entry is up.

I tag:
Dee
Andrew
Sarah

I realize that's less than 6-ish, but it'll have to do!!

urrgggggg pirates

KWU's Pirates... was great!! AK did a wonderful job as always. His voice is amazing and I can understand what he sings. There were two people sitting behind us that were talking LOUDLY the entire show. I wanted to "shhhhhhhhish" them so bad.
Football's on tap for the weekend.. South tonight, 'Cats tomorrow.. Tomorrow is is JD's bday so he's coming with us. He's going to the Cheifs game with Kevin, Darin and Braden on Sunday and he's pumped!!

tickets

Andrew called me yesterday afternoon to make sure that I had bought my tickets for "pirates". Luckily I had just an hour before, he said there was a line when he went. I got a seat in the second row so I can see AK up and personal!! It'll be a good time.
JD is trying out for the chorus in the high school's musical, The Music Man, he's been singing Gary, Indiana..... a lot!

bday weekend

Celebrating Kevin's birthday with aunts and some cousins was a great time. I did find out that I'm much too old for the dancing bar scene but Johnnie's was great!! We laughed a lot and made some memories.

We got home in good time today so I ran to the park and back. It was a nice day to run. Five miles is getting easier for me. I guess I need to add more mileage to my Sunday runs!!

purple buzz

The firing of Ron Prince-- can't say I'm surprised, but I'm not sure of the timing. I'd say Wefald and Krause have a plan in place. It'll make for an interesting end of the season.

I'm off to read to Kaylee and study stats. It's time for another test and I'm really, really clueless!!

Kevin turns 40 Thursday!!

I drove by the school to see if the line was long at 7 a.m. and there was about 6-10 people in line so I waited until 3 p.m. and there was no one. When I finished there were 4 people in line. Kaylee was upset today because one of her classmates "was talking bad about Obama." She also informed her class that his grandmother died and that he'd be sad if he lost also. All this coming from a second grader. At least our kids are aware of things around them. Hopefully they will remember this historical event.

beginning of the week

Check out Dee's blog if you'd like to see pics from Halloween. We had a great time tricking treating in Ellsworth. We went back over for Drover's final day. I brought some sweet boots and Dee got new cast iron for camping. We also go to see my great aunt Saturday evening.

Plans are underway for Cousin Kevin's b-day bash in Lawrence. I'm sure we'll have fun (even in Lawrence.)
